Jive Aces’ Not Quite Christmas (Aldwych Theatre, 12 Dec)

It’s beginning to feel Not Quite Christmas. Rob Adams slicks back his hair and turns up his collar to preview the Jive Aces’ new show, featuring a host of special guests.

The UK’s Number 1 jive and swing band, the Jive Aces take over the Aldwych Theatre on Monday 12 December for an exclusive, one-night-only London performance of their new, dynamic and vibrant Not Quite Christmas extravaganza.

Featuring handpicked songs from the classic Swing and Rock ‘n’ Roll era, this spectacular occasion promises to have the audience rocking in their seats or for those more energetically inclined, dancing in the aisles.

The evening is presented by impresario Rocco Buonvino, who is known for bringing over Hollywood celebrities including Robert De Niro, Sophia Loren, Sylvester Stallone and John Travolta for his A Night With show in London’s West End. It features the Jive Aces with an impressive array of special guests.

Jump blues saxophonist and the Godfather of Swing, Ray Gelato, vintage Swing-singing princess and star of BBC TV’s Holby City, Rebecca Grant, post-modern harmony trio, The London Belles and the silky-voiced jazz chanteuse, Noelle Vaughn will all appear.

They’ll be joined by Irish rhythm & blues singer, Alan Power, award-winning tap dancer, Adele Joel, crazy lindy hoppers Joseph and Charlotte from JiveSwing.com and the Jive Aces’ own Italian Queen of accordion, Grazia Bevilacqua.

The Jive Aces have been together for over 25 years and have worked with top musical celebrities including Van Morrison and Chick Corea, and stars of show business Keely Smith and John Travolta, to name just a few. Actors Ewan McGregor and Tom Hardy are among their many fans.

Throughout their prolific career, the Aces have developed the stagecraft to make every show strikingly memorable and even when the pandemic left them without live gigs for two years, they kept their effervescent performances flowing and their repertoire fresh and reinvigorated by presenting 500 consecutive live streams.

With Rocco Buonvino, recipient of the 2021 Gentlemen of Heart Awards London, hosting this vital, swinging and grooving band and their guests, Not Quite Christmas is guaranteed to leave everyone primed to embark happily on a hectic Festive Season.
