Days earlier than Invoice Evans’s demise on September 15, 1980, the pianist handed his bassist, Marc Johnson, a cassette tape. On the tape was a beforehand unrecorded authentic by Evans known as Here is One thing for You. Eliane Elias and her companion, Marc Johnson, carried out the track on video, which is up at YouTube. As you may see, they clearly share a deep love for Evans. Marc, of programs, was the final Invoice Evans Trio bassist. Elaine has at all times had a connection to Evans’s music. Whereas rising up in São Paulo, Brazil, she transcribed Evans’s solos off her dad and mom’ albums and performed them word for word. [Photo above of Bill Evans and Marc Johnson]
Moved by the melody, Eliane wrote a lyric for the track…
Right here is one thing for you
The place or when it finds you
Right here is my coronary heart, haunted, silly
Let me discover you
Discover the one who introduced me this love
Discover the one who taught me romance
Confirmed the dawn
Introduced the moonlight

Contact of these palms
They led me to this way of life
Hear the dawn, singing songs now
Telling tales, which is yours now
On a life mirrored, time remembered
When the autumn leaves could fall
Here is the sound that we recall
From the pages of my coronary heart to you
Here is Eliane and Marc in, I imagine, 2008 taking part in Invoice Evans’s Here is One thing for You (picture above of Eliane and Marc). To my data, it has by no means been recorded on an album. A particular because of David Thompson…
